Whether you're exploring implants, straightening your teeth or simply want a smile you feel confident in, a consultation is where everything begins. Dental anxiety is more common than you might think - and it's something we take seriously at Richmond Hill Dental. We've been caring for nervous patients for many years, and we understand that for some people, even picking up the phone can feel like a big step. That's completely okay. Our team is trained to listen without judgement, take things at your pace, and make sure you feel in control at every stage.
For patients who need a little more support, IV sedation is available with Dr Frances Carling-Thom, who specialises in caring for nervous patients and has over 15 years of experience. You'll be in a deeply relaxed state throughout your treatment, with little to no memory of the appointment afterwards - making it possible to get the care you need without the worry.
e believe high-quality dentistry should be honest from the very first conversation. You'll always receive a clear, fully written treatment plan before anything begins - with every cost listed up front, so there are no surprises later.

There's a reason patients have trusted us on The Vineyard since 1997 - we've built our reputation on careful, considered, high-quality care, never shortcuts. Today, our fully private practice brings together a multidisciplinary team, modern technology and three decades of community trust, all under one roof.
Located minutes from Richmond station and a short walk from Richmond Park, we look after families, professionals and long-time residents across Richmond, Kew, East Sheen, Twickenham and the wider TW10 area.

How long has Richmond Hill Dental been established?
There has been a dental practice at our Vineyard address since 1997. We've grown carefully over the years, building a quietly excellent reputation across Richmond, Kew, East Sheen and Twickenham, and many of our patients have been with us across two or three generations of their family.
Are you a private dental practice?
Yes, we're a fully private practice. This means we can offer longer appointment times, advanced technology and the kind of careful, considered care that genuinely high-quality dentistry needs. We're transparent about every fee, and there's never any obligation to proceed with treatment.
Where is the practice located?
We're at 37 The Vineyard, Richmond, TW10 6AS - tucked away on Richmond Hill, just minutes from Richmond station and a short walk from Richmond Park. The full directions and transport links are on our find us page.
Who is on the clinical team?
Our team brings together extensive experience across implant dentistry, sedation, orthodontics, hygiene and complex restorative care. Dr Arjinder leads our implant work, Dr Frances Carling-Thom looks after our nervous patients with IV sedation, and our wider team of dentists includes Dr Laleh Salmani (with over 20 years of experience and a particular interest in cosmetic, restorative and root canal work), Dr Jack Johnson (graduated with honours from Birmingham, with a special interest in aesthetic and restorative dentistry) and Dr Matthew Cottam (with a particular focus on root canal treatment, currently undertaking a Master's in endodontics). Our hygienists Libby and Emily are well known across Richmond for their gentle, unhurried approach. You can read more on our meet the team page.
Do you act as a referral practice?
Yes. We're a trusted referral centre for other dentists across South West London, accepting referrals for dental implants, IV sedation, advanced 3D CBCT imaging and specialist root canal treatment. Patients are always returned to their referring dentist for ongoing care.

What treatments do you offer at Richmond Hill Dental?
We offer the full range of modern dentistry under one roof, including general and family dentistry, hygiene appointments, cosmetic treatments, teeth straightening, dental implants (including All-on-4 same day teeth), sedation dentistry and emergency care.
Do you offer same day teeth or full arch implant treatment?
Yes. We offer All-on-4 same day teeth, a remarkable form of full-arch implant dentistry that replaces an entire upper or lower set of teeth using just four implants - with a fixed set of new teeth attached the same day as surgery for most patients.
Do you treat nervous or anxious patients?
Yes - we're well known across Richmond for our gentle approach with nervous patients. Our sedation dentistry is led by Dr Frances Carling-Thom, who specialises in caring for anxious patients and has over 15 years of experience helping them feel calm and properly cared for.
Do you treat children?
Absolutely. Family dentistry has been at the heart of our practice for three decades. We offer a £20 new child examination, our friendly Toothbrushing Club for younger patients, and gentle, age-appropriate care from a team who genuinely love working with little ones.
What teeth straightening options do you offer?
We offer three of the most respected clear aligner systems in the UK - Invisalign, Spark and Angel aligners - alongside a full range of fixed brace options including metal, ceramic, iconic and lingual braces. Every case is planned digitally with our iTero scanner.

How do I book an appointment?
For general dentistry, hygiene visits and check-ups, you can book online 24 hours a day. For cosmetic, restorative, orthodontic or implant consultations, please use the form on this page or call us, and a member of our team will guide you through the next steps.
Do you offer free consultations?
We don't offer free consultations, and we'd rather be upfront about why. Our consultations involve proper time with a clinician, careful examination, digital scans where needed, and a fully written treatment plan. Our new patient examination from £60 is the most accessible way to get to know us.
Will I get a written estimate before any treatment?
Yes - always. We never start treatment without you knowing exactly what it costs. Every patient receives a clear, written treatment plan before anything begins, with no hidden fees and no surprises later.
Why are your fees higher than NHS dentistry?
Private dentistry allows us to offer longer appointment times, advanced technology like 3D CBCT scanning and digital impressions, and a wider range of materials and techniques than the NHS contract permits. The investment shows in the long-term durability and aesthetics of treatment.

What can I expect on my first visit?
A proper, unhurried introduction to your mouth and to us. We'll start with a friendly chat about your medical history and any concerns, then carry out a thorough but gentle examination. You'll leave knowing exactly what we've seen, with a written estimate where treatment is recommended. Full details on our new patients page.
I haven't been to a dentist in years. Will you judge me?
Not even slightly. We see patients every week who haven't been in a dental chair for many years - sometimes decades. There's never any judgement, no lectures, just a calm welcome and a gentle plan to get you back on track.
Do you take time to explain things properly?
Yes - it's one of the things our patients comment on most. Every diagnosis, treatment option and decision is explained in plain English, with proper time to ask questions. We'll show you on screen where it helps, and you'll never feel rushed into a decision.
What if I'm anxious about treatment?
Please tell us when you book. We'll allow extra time, take everything at your pace, and never carry out anything you're not ready for. For patients with more significant anxiety, IV sedation with Dr Frances Carling-Thom is available across most treatments.
Can I bring my children to my own appointment?
Of course. Many of our parents do exactly that, and we can often book consecutive family appointments so you only need to make one trip. Children are warmly welcomed, with stickers waiting at reception.
