Helping little ones grow up genuinely comfortable visiting the dentist is one of our favourite things to do. Our gentle team has been caring for Richmond children for over 30 years.

The earliest experiences in a dental chair shape how children feel about their teeth for life. A child who grows up trusting their dentist becomes an adult who looks after their smile - and that's a gift worth giving early.

We've been looking after generations of families across Richmond, Kew, East Sheen. Some of the children whose first teeth we counted in the late 1990s now bring their own little ones to see us. There's no greater privilege than that, and we don't take it lightly.

Your child's appointment is gentle, age-appropriate and never rushed. A typical visit includes:

For £85, your child can join our dedicated Toothbrushing Club - a friendly, calm appointment focused on helping them build proper brushing habits in a way that actually feels fun. They'll learn how plaque works, why fluoride matters, and how to brush every surface properly, all guided by one of our patient hygienists.

Most childhood dental problems are completely preventable. Our quiet philosophy with younger patients is always to lean towards prevention - more education, more brushing support, more gentle monitoring - and far less drilling. The earlier good habits start, the easier life is later on.
We've built our children's pathway around making first visits feel calm and positive. Here's what to expect.

Your child is greeted by name at reception and given time to settle in. Many of our younger patients enjoy looking at the fish on our screens or choosing a sticker before they're called through.
Before anything clinical, our dentist will get down to your child's level for a proper conversation - what they like at school, how they brush at home, whether anything's been wobbly.
Children can sit on a parent's lap if they'd prefer. We'll count their teeth, take a careful look at their gums and developing bite, and use a small mirror to show them what we see.
Every visit ends with plenty of praise, gentle home care advice for parents, and (most importantly) a sticker. We want your child to leave looking forward to next time.

We know how full family schedules can be. We offer one Saturday per month and reserve later weekday slots specifically for our younger patients, so dental visits don't have to mean missing school.

If your child's teeth are coming through unevenly or their bite isn't developing as it should, our team can guide you through their orthodontic options. Early intervention often means simpler, shorter treatment later on.

We're a fully private practice with transparent, upfront pricing:

When should my child have their first dental visit?
We recommend bringing your little one in by their first birthday, or as soon as their first teeth come through. Early visits aren't really clinical - they're about getting your child used to the chair, the lights and the friendly faces.
What if my child is nervous or has had a bad experience?
Please tell us when you book. We'll allow extra time, go at their pace, and won't carry out anything they're not ready for. Some children need two or three "happy visits" before any examination, and that's completely fine with us.
Do you treat children with special needs?
Yes, we love seeing children of all needs and abilities. Please call us in advance so we can plan the appointment properly - including a quieter time of day, longer slots, or a calm pre-visit walkthrough.
How can I help my child brush properly at home?
Children generally need help brushing until at least age seven. Use a small, soft brush, fluoride toothpaste suitable for their age, and brush twice a day for two minutes. Our Toothbrushing Club is designed to help with exactly this.
Are X-rays safe for children?
Yes. We only take X-rays when there's a clear clinical reason, and our digital low-dose technology means the radiation involved is extremely small - far less than a flight or a day of natural background radiation.
Can I stay in the room during my child's appointment?
Of course. Most parents stay throughout, and younger children often sit on a parent's lap. Whatever helps your child feel safe is what we'll do.
